Minutes for September 5, 2007

Lewis, Carol Miller, Linda Bruns, Lois Blevins, Ed McCarter, and Mine Veral-Burk.
President Laura Wetherald called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Minutes: The August 2007 minutes were approved.
New Business
o A representative from Vocelli’s Pizza attended the meeting and introduced a Vocelli’s
Card fundraiser.
o Updated Board of Directors

o Katherine Martinez and Dave Bleyer will be working the logistics for reimbursements
Goals
o Committee Chairs need to identify a goal for their committee before the next Viking
Backers meeting
o Working with the PTSA – want a unified front to the school and community
Membership
o 66 Families to this point – improvement from this point last year.
o Need Volunteers for Back to School Night
Concessions
o Volunteer numbers are looking better than this point last year
o Popcorn Machine is in and sales are going well
o Need people to open and close concessions
Spirit Wear
o Pam Jones will be doing hospitality
o Spirit Wear
o Would like to purchase new items
o Board voted to give funds for the new items
New Committee Positions
Linda Bruns will be our new Public Relations Committee Chair

School Administrative Liaisons

o Presented a needs list last fall – to date 2/3 of the list has been completed. Current
priorities are:
o Baseball/Softball Scoreboard
o New Press Box at the football field
o Work on Concession Stand
